Regents tutoring in NYC
NY Smart Start Regents Tutoring Program helps prepare students for NYS Regents Examinations.
- Regents Examinations are offered to students grades 7-12.
- Exams are offered to students in months of January, June, and August.
- The scores from these exams are used for student high school graduation requirements, school quality reports, and evaluations.
What’s on the Test?
The test’s content varies by subject area. All Regents Examinations have a multiple-choice section and an open response section.
Regents Examinations are required for all public school students in New York. Once a student does well on core Regents Examinations, it is urged to pursue an Advanced Regents Diploma.

NY Smart Start currently offers courses in Regents Preparation for the following subject areas:

Classes are offered in small group and individual settings, in an online format and in-person format.
Lesson Format
From the first lesson, our tutors cover the Regents Curriculum from the basics, uncovering potential weak areas and helping students grasp fundamental concepts.
Basic Outline of Lessons is as follows:

- Explanation of new concept(s)
- Practice in class
- Supplemental resources
- Homework packet
As with other programs, our teachers are available to students via email, text, or phone call throughout the week.
If the need arises, we are always happy to forward more supplemental material and videos to enhance the student’s understanding of material.
