Basic Music Theory Classes for our Individual Piano Students encompass:
- 5 Different Music Theory Levels *mandatory for all piano students.
This program is aligned with the ABRSM (Royal Conservatory, Great Britain) program. Students learn the basics of music grammar.
Advanced Level Theory Classes for middle school and high school students:
- 1 Pre-College (AP Music Theory Prep)
- 1 College (AP Music Theory)
*These courses can be taken by any middle and/or high-school students who study any musical instrument for a few years.
AP Music Theory credits can serve as college credits for ANY FIELD OF SPECIALTY.
Students will be given a placement test to determine whether he/she can start a College course right away.
Music Theory classes are offered in small groups or individual classes. The purpose of these classes is to offer students a deeper understanding of formation of notes, chords, harmonies, and more. Music Theory Curriculum also includes ear training/Solfege, basics in musical grammar, and harmony. Students need to pass an exam before they are promoted to the next level.
